Kent State Makes Jump in Final Round to Finish Tied for 8th

GAINSEVILLE, Fla. – The Golden Flashes put together a strong final round at the SunTrust Gator Women's Invitational to move up the standings and end the event in a tie for 8th place at 76-over par
The final round total of 291, 11-over was the second-lowest through the three days of the tournament. No. 11 Arizona won at 39-over. Kent State jumped above No. 22 NC State to beat them by four strokes and finished just one stroke behind No. 24 Tulane. The Flashes tied with No. 35 GRU Augusta.
Taylor Kim finished strong with a final round of even par-70 golf to end in a tie for 18th at 15-over. Wad Phaewchimplee improved her game to shoot 2-over and end tied for 43rd at 24-over. Jennifer Ha also stepped up on the final day to score 3-over and end at 27-over, good for a tie for 53rd place.
Raksha Phadke had a third round score of 6-over toe for 28th overall at 22-over while Josée Doyon finished at 25-over in 46th place with a 10-over day.
The Golden Flashes had the 5th-best par-three scoring in the tournament and the 6th-best scores on par-fours. Kim was even on the par threes throughout the three days, which was the second best individually.
Kent State will have a short break before returning to action in the two-day Briar's Creek Invitational to be held March 23-24.
