Hill Promoted to Associate Head Coach

Kent State wrestling's Matt Hill has been promoted to associate head coach, as announced by Head Coach Jim Andrassy on Wednesday.Â
"Matt's been a very solid, dependable asset to Kent State wrestling and ultimately this was the next step for him," Andrassy said.  "I know there were other programs that were interested in him and I'm really glad we were able to keep him. His desire to make us the best is a big part of who we are."
Entering his eighth season at Kent State and sixth as a full-time assistant, Hill has been a part of three MAC regular season title teams. His tenure has included seven All-America finishes by the Golden Flashes and 13 individual MAC champions.
"I'm thankful for the opportunity to keep progressing in my career," Hill said. "I was a little surprised, but when you put a lot of hard work in…it's one of those things that can happen. I love our team and the people around it and I'd like to be here as long as I can. If we keep doing all the right things, the sky's the limit."
The 2015-16 Golden Flashes' roster will include eight returning starters and seven seniors.
Kent State's seven straight years with at least one All-American is the 11th longest active streak in the nation.
