
Flashes Return to M.A.C. Center to Start Second Half of MAC Season

KENT, Ohio — Kent State will be back in action at the M.A.C. Center this weekend to host a pair of Mid-American Conference West Division opponents.
The Golden Flashes (11-10, 4-4 MAC) will look to start the second half of the conference season the same way it started league play — a pair of home victories. Kent State will battle Western Michigan on Friday at 7 p.m. and first-place Northern Illinois on Saturday at 6 p.m. Fans can receive FREE entry to Saturday's game with a ticket stub from the Kent State football game vs. Ohio, which is scheduled for a 1 p.m. kickoff Saturday at Dix Stadium.

Kent State dominated the fifth set to earn its first road victory of the conference season last Friday at Ball State, 3-2 (25-18, 25-23, 16-25, 23-25, 15-6). On Saturday, the Golden Flashes dropped a tough 3-2 (17-25, 25-14, 25-23, 14-25, 6-15) decision at Toledo.
Heather Younkin (27 kills) and Kelsey Bittinger (26 kills) led the offensive attack for the Flashes. Brittney Jakscht recorded 8.60 assists set and had her first double-double of the season at Toledo (38 assists, 14 digs).
Challen Geraghty posted 6.10 digs per set and had just one receiving error in 69 opportunities. Bittinger averaged 2.6 digs per set and totaled a season-high 20 at Ball State. Claire Tulisiak added 2.10 digs per set.
