Volleyball Falls to Falcons, 3-1

KENT, Ohio – A balanced effort was not enough for the Kent State volleyball team in a 3-1 (21-25, 11-25, 25-20, 20-25) loss to Bowling Green Friday night at the M.A.C. Center
The Golden Flashes (13-13, 6-7 MAC) had four players with double-digit kills and five players post double-digit digs. Junior Kelsey Bittinger (13 kills, 13 digs) and senior Katarina Kojic (42 assists, 12 digs) each recorded a double-double to lead the way for the Flashes.
Kojic, who finished with four kills of her own, distributed sets to several Kent State attackers throughout the match. Bittinger paced the Flashes with 13 kills, followed closely by junior Amber Gerdeman, who had a career-high 12 kills. Sophomore Lexi Mantas and junior Heather Younkin added 10 kills each.
Junior Challen Geraghty led the floor defense with 19 digs. Senior Maddie Moxley turned in a career-high 14 digs. Freshman Claire Tulisiak (10 digs) joined Bittinger and Kojic to round out the Flashes in double-digits.
Kent State returns to the court on Saturday when Miami visits the M.A.C. Center for a 6 p.m. first serve. Following the conclusion of the match, the team will honor its senior class with a Senior Night ceremony.
