Gymnastics Wraps Up Regular Season with Tri-meet at George Washington

KENT, Ohio -ย The Kent State gymnastics team heads to Washington D.C. this weekend to wrap-up the 2016 regular season in a tri-meet with George Washington and Yale.ย The meet is scheduled to begin at 1pm on Sunday, March 13th inside the Charles E. Smith Center.ย

Kent State
The Golden Flashes (9-3, 6-0 MAC) enter the regular season finale having defeated Cornell 196.000- 193.175 at the M.A.C. Center on Sunday, March 6th.
The Flashes posted season-high scores on vault (48.850), bars (49.275), and floor (49.475), while adding a 48.400 on beam.ย
Senior Nicolle Eastman had an impressive final meet at the M.A.C. Center, posting scores of 9.8 (vault), 9.8 (beam), and a career-high (9.925).ย Kayla Kosmerl scored a 9.825 on floor tying a career-high, while Rebecca Osmer scored 9.8 on bars.
Ali Marrero secured victories on bars and beam with career-high scores of 9.925 and 9.9, respectively.ย Jordan Hardison also posted a career-high score, taking first on floor with 9.95.ย
George Washington
The Colonials (22-4, 8-2 EAGL) are coming off a first place in the Maryland 5 Meet, with Maryland, Pittsburgh, Yale, and Texas Woman's.
George Washington turned in scores of 48.75 (vault), 48.725 (bars), 49.075 (beam), and 49.175 (floor), bringing their total score to 195.725.ย
Alex Zois took home the bars title with a score of 9.85, while Jillian Winstanley took home the beam title with a 9.9.
Yale
The Bulldogs (6-16) are coming a 195.150-193.700 loss to Bridgeprot on Friday, March 10th. ย Yale posted its highest all-round team score since 2004.
The Bulldogs posted team scores of 48.15ย (vault), 48.7ย (bars), 48.45ย (beam), 48.4ย (floor), to comprise their team score of 193.700.
Jessica Wang picked up a victory on bars with a score of 9.85, while Tatiana Winkleman took the top spot on beam,ย also scoring a 9.85
The Matchup
The Golden Flashes hold an all-time record of 12-2 against Colonials, with their last meeting coming earlier this season.ย George Washington came out on top in the February 7th contest, ending in a narrow 196.075-196.050 victory for the Colonials.ย ย
This will be the first meeting in program history between Kent State and Yale.ย
