Women's Golf Posts Strong Final Day to Finish Tied for 5th

JOHN'S ISLAND, S.C. – Kent State had the second-best final round at the Briar's Creek Invitational, shooting 4-under to make a jump to finish in a tie for 5th place at the Briar's Creek Invitational at 8-over, 872.
No. 8 Florida won the event at 6-under to capture an 11-stroke victory. The Golden Flashes tied with No. 20 Florida State and trailed second place Indiana by just three strokes.
Taylor Kim had the best individual finish finishing in a tie for 5th place at 4-under overall. Wad Phaewchimplee made the top 15, tying for 13th place at 1-over.
Josée Doyon matched Kim for the best final round of 2-under. She ended the event at 6-over. Michaela Finn concluded the invitational at 7-over while Amira Alexander came in at 14-over after a 1-under day.
The Golden Flashes had the second most pars with 175 through the three rounds. Finn led all in the field with a total of 40 pars.
Kent State will travel to Athens, Georgia, April 1-3 for the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic for their next event.
