Flashes Return Home to M.A.C. Center Wednesday Night

Kent State (7-8, 1-2) looks to build on its first conference victory when the team hosts Northern Illinois (10-4, 3-0) at home in the M.A.C. Center Wednesday night.

The Matchup
• Kent State is 20-13 all-time against Northern Illinois
• The Golden Flashes have won the past two meetings, both at home, 95-85 last season and 54-52 in February 2015
• Prior to that, the Huskies had won the previous four games
• Northern Illinois has started off with a perfect MAC season, taking down Eastern Michigan at home, Bowling Green on the road and most recently beating top-contender Ohio at home this past Saturday
• The Huskies score at a blistering pace, averaging 90.6 points per game, which ranks second in the nation behind only Baylor
• Ally Lehman leads the team by averaging a double-double this season, 16.9 points and 10.9 rebounds
• All five projected starters are averaging 11 points or more this season
Time Changes
• Two upcoming game times have been changed due to the contests being picked up by TV
• The doubleheader on Saturday, January 21 will now begin at 4 p.m. as the men's game following will be televised
• The Akron game on Saturday, February 25 at home has been moved up to 2 p.m. as it will be aired live on TWSC
Weekly Honors
• Both Jordan Korinek and Larissa Lurken were recognized for their efforts in the past week of play
• Korinek was named the Hometown Bank Student-Athlete of the Week after scoring 12 at Ball State and following that up with a double-double on Saturday when she scored 21 and grabbed 13 rebounds in a win against Eastern Michigan
• Lurken was named the MAC East Player of the Week as she averaged 23.0 points in the two games including a double-double on Saturday with 28 points and ten rebounds
Up Next
• The Flashes will return to the road for the next two games as they face their first MAC East foe Saturday at Ohio and then travel to Western Michigan next Wednesday
• Kent State will come back to the M.A.C. Center on January 21 for the doubleheader with Toledo
