Women's basketball (8-9, 2-3) will look to continue its positive momentum when the team travels to Western Michigan (13-3, 4-1) Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. game.

The Matchup
โข Kent State is 30-25 all-time against Western Michigan
โข The Flashes dropped both meetings last year, 73-52 on the road and 65-53 at home
โข The last victory for KSU came in February 2014 when they won in Kalamazoo by a score of 57-48
โข The Broncos beat non-conference common opponents Fort Wayne, Detroit and Bradley
โข In MAC play, Western Michigan has beat Akron at home, Miami on the road and Bowling Green at home while their lone loss came at Ball State by a final of 61-56

โข Through all games this season, Kent State ranks 6th in scoring offense, 3rd in free throw percentage, 3rd in three-point field goal percentage, 5th in rebounding defense, 6th in rebounding margin, 6th in steals and 4th and offensive rebounds
โข Larissa Lurken remains the MAC leader in scoring with 22.5 points per game
โข She also ranks 11th in rebounding, 9th in free-throw percentage, 9th in three-pointers made, 6th in defensive rebounds and 7th in blocked shots
โข Jordan Korinek is 15th in scoring and 8th in offensive rebounds
โข Naddiyah Cross is 8th in the MAC in assists
โข When looking at just the five conference games played, Kent State is 4th in scoring offense, 3rd in free throw percentage, 6th in field goal percentage, 5th in three point shots made, 5th in rebounding defense, 6th in rebounding margin, 4th in assists, 5th in steals, 4th in turnover margin, 3rd in assist/turnover ratio and 2nd in offensive rebounds
โข Lurken and Korinek are 2nd and 3rd in MAC-only scoring, averaging 25.0 and 20.2 points, respectively
โข Korinek is also 9th in field goal percentage and 4th in offensive rebounds
โข Lurken is tied for 3rd in three-point shots made with 14 in five games and is also tied for 4th in blocks
โข McKenna Stephens is 8th in rebounding in five conference games and 7th in field goal percentage
โข Alexa Golden's 2.8 steals per game is tied for 3rd most while she is the MAC-only leader in three-point field goal percentage
MAC Mixup
โข With only being five games in to the conference season, it is still early to gauge where teams will end up in the final MAC standings
โข However, where things are now show the possibility of some surprise teams finishing higher than anticipated in the preseason poll
โข Ohio and Buffalo sit No. 1 and No. 2 in the East but Kent State, who was picked to finished last in the division, is right there with Buffalo at 2-3
โข Akron was picked to finish third. The Zips are still looking for their first MAC victory at 0-5
โข Similarly in the West, Central Michigan was the preseason favorite and is a perfect 5-0, but Northern Illinois is also perfect. The Huskies were picked fourth in preseason
