Flashes Remain Home in MAC East Play When Miami Visits Wednesday Night

Women's basketball (11-10, 5-4) will remain home and in Mid-American Conference East Division play as they host Miami (7-14, 1-7) on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.

The Matchup
• Kent State is 43-42 all-time against Miami
• Last season the two teams split as the Flashes won 59-53 at home but fell 55-52 on the road
• The RedHawks have won eight of the last ten meetings
• Miami's lone MAC win this season came January 11 in a 72-61 victory over Eastern Michigan
• They have also faced Buffalo twice, Western Michigan, Toledo, Central Michigan, Northern Illinois and Ohio
• The RedHawks are averaging 59.9 points and 37.6 rebounds per game this season

• Kent State is currently tied with Buffalo and Western Michigan for 5th place in the overall conference standings at 5-4
• Northern Illinois leads the MAC at 8-1, followed closely by Ohio and Ball State who are 7-2
• Central Michigan currently holds the 4th spot at 6-2
• Toledo, at 4-4, is in 8th, followed by Akron, 2-6, in 9th
• Miami holds the 10th spot while Eastern Michigan and Bowling Green are in the bottom two spots at 1-8
• When the MAC tournament begins March 6, the top four teams receive a bye while the 5-8 seeds host the 9-12 seeds at campus sites

• Kent State currently ranks in the top half of the conference in numerous statistical categories including, scoring offense, free throw percentage, rebounding offense, rebounding defense, rebounding margin, steals, offensive rebounds, defensive and offensive rebound percentage
• Individually, Larissa Lurken remains the MAC leader in scoring by averaging 23.1 points this season
• She also ranks 7th in free throw percentage, 7th in blocked shots and 7th in defensive rebounds
• Jordan Korinek is 15th in scoring
• McKenna Stephens is 6th in field goal percentage
• Naddiyah Cross ranks 8th in the MAC in assists
Looking Ahead
• The win over Bowling Green on Saturday marked the midway point for this conference season
• After being home on Wednesday, Kent State travels to Buffalo on Saturday
• The Flashes are home again the following Wednesday before reviving the Wagon Wheel Challenge at Akron on Saturday, February 11
• After a midweek bye, the Flashes host Ohio for the annual Play4Kay pink game
