Beauty and the Beast Returns to the M.A.C. Center on Saturday

KENT, Ohio – Kent State Athletics will host its Beauty and the Beast event, which features the gymnastics and wrestling teams competing simultaneously inside of the M.A.C. Center, on Saturday, February 4 at 2 p.m.
After a one-year hiatus, the return of this unique event will see Kent State Gymnastics compete against No. 25 West Virginia while Kent State Wrestling tangles with No. 1 Oklahoma State.
ADMISSION
Tickets are $10 for lower reserved seats and $8 for upper level general admission seats. Vouchers purchased as part of a season flex pass will be accepted on meet day.
Children who redeem their completed coloring contest entry at the Athletic Ticket Office will receive a $2 discount off their ticket.
As with all Kent State Athletics home contests, students will receive free admission by presenting their FlashCard at the door.
The Athletics Ticket Office will open at 1 p.m. on the day of the meet.
PROMOTIONS
"Beauty and the Beast" characters will be in attendance to interact with fans and take photos prior to, and during, the event.
There will be a coloring contest for children with the winner receiving a Future Flashes prize pack, which includes a t-shirt, backpack, pennant and much more.
Following the conclusion of the competition, there will be a joint autograph session featuring student-athletes from both teams in the atrium located on the second level.
EVENT SETUP
The gymnastics competition will take place on the North end of the M.A.C. Center floor, which is near where the uneven bars are usually set up. The wrestling mat will be on the South end of the floor, which is closer to the fan entrance.
This distinct layout event will allow fans to enjoy the different aspects of both sports at the same time.
HISTORY OF BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
Kent State hosted its first Beauty and the Beast event in 2013 and it returns after a year off in 2016. Gymnastics and wrestling are both 3-0 in Beauty and the Beast competitions.
