- The Kent State men's basketball team will play its final road game of the regular season Tuesday when it travels to Bowling Green for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
- Kent State will be looking to extend its longest winning streak of the season to five games and compete for a top four seed in the MAC Tournament. Kent State's recent run started with a win over Miami at home on Valentine's Day. Heading into the team's Feb. 17 game at Akron, the Golden Flashes were facing the top three teams in the league in succession. Kent State has finished the daunting run with three wins, two of which came at Akron and Buffalo. The latest came in a comeback win at home over Ohio.
- At the start of the streak, the Flashes were the 11 seed in the standings. They have rushed to a tie for third place with Buffalo, Western Michigan and Ball State.
- If the tournament started today, the Flashes would be the fifth seed in the tournament and host Miami on Monday. All four teams in the tie are on the road Tuesday. Several scenarios could play out in the results after Tuesday, including a potential five-team tie for second place if all four teams win.
- Tuesday's game will be the 157th meeting between Kent State and Bowling Green. The series, which dates back to Jan. 23, 1917, celebrates its 100th year this season.
- Bowling Green holds the all-time edge by a close margin, 85-71. Last season, the Flashes won both regular season games, but dropped their MAC Tournament game against the Falcons, 70-69.
- Earlier this season, Bowling Green earned a win at the M.A.C. Center in overtime, 84-83, with a comeback in the final 14 seconds of overtime.
- Bowling Green has won two straight games and are winners of five of their last eight games. The last two wins came at home against MAC East titlists Akron, 66-65, and on the road at Miami, 70-54.
- Michael Huger is in year two with the Falcons and is a 1994 Bowling Green graduate.
