Senior Maddy Grimm had two hits in each game, including her seventh career multi-home run game in Game 2. Grimm, who had three RBIs, collected both of the Flashes' hits off 2016 MAC Pitcher of the Year Savannah Jo Dorsey in Game 1 and then belted a two-run shot in the bottom of the first in Game 2.
Junior Emily Dobbin hit laser off the scoreboard to start the third, and Grimm followed with her second home run to make it 4-0.
Kent State hit back-to-back homers again in the fifth, starting with a two-run shot by senior Ronnie Ladines. Sophomore Jen Cader added a home run to make it 7-1.
In the circle, Ladines allowed just one run to go with five strikeouts to earn the victory in Game 2. Freshman Madi Huck continued her strong start to conference play by not allowing a hit in one inning of Game 1.
