No. 1 Kent State (35-16) will work towards a Mid-American Conference Tournament title this week in Avon, Ohio. The first game is slated for Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. against No. 8 Toledo (16-39).

PERENNIAL POWERHOUSE
• The 2017 MAC regular season champions are no strangers to winning
• The Golden Flashes have won either the regular season or the tournament title in 16 of the last 18 seasons

• The Golden Flashes currently rank as one of the top teams in the country as they are 19th in the nation according to Collegiate Baseball's weekly poll
• The team continues to have the most road wins in Division I baseball with 22
• Kent State enters the tournament ranked 20th in the nation in ERA and 31st in batting average
• The team also ranks 8th in shutouts, 24th in strikeouts per nine innings and win-loss percentage
• Joey Murray is 24th in the nation in ERA, 30th in strikeouts and 3rd in strikeouts per nine innings
• Luke Burch is 37th in hits per game while Mason Mamarella ranks 28th in triples
