Tutolo Named MAC Wrestler of the Week

Kent State junior 133-pounder Anthony Tutolo (Concord, Ohio) was named Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week Wednesday, after going 4-0 this past weekend at the Virginia Duals. Â Tutolo helped the Golden Flashes to team victories over Campbell and Fresno State at Hampton Coliseum.
Avenging a loss from last season's NCAA Championships, Tutolo defeated defending SoCon champion Chris Debien (Chattanooga) 3-2. He also knocked off Campbell's Nathan Boston (5-2), who was No. 19 in last week's TrackWrestling rankings.Â
Tutolo was one of two Flashes to earn a victory against No. 11 Northern Iowa with a 13-9 decision over Jack Wagner. He also earned a major decision (11-3) over Fresno State's Trevor Williams.
On the season, Tutolo is 21-8 overall and 13-3 in dual meets. He's racked up four tech fall victories.
The Golden Flashes will compete in a pair of road dual meets this weekend, beginning Friday night against archrival Ohio.
