Hicks Named Defensive Player of the Week

CLEVELAND - Kent State junior inside linebacker Dalton Hicks (Delphos, Ohio) was named Mid-American Conference East Division Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. Hicks led the Golden Flashes with 14 tackles in a 35-28 road victory over Bowling Green on Oct. 30.
In just his second career start, Hicks made six solo tackles and had a pass breakup as Kent State held the Falcons to just 86 yards rushing.
In his two starts this season, Hicks has made 26 tackles. On the year, he has totaled 44 tackles and 23 solo stops.
Kent State returns to action Tuesday night, taking on MAC East-leading Buffalo at 7:30 p.m., on ESPNU.
