
Flashes Travel to Henssler Intercollegiate

KENT, Ohio- The No. 19 Kent State Golden Flashes look to repeat as team champions at the Hennsler Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday for the two-day event, hosted by Kennesaw State University. The event will be played at the par 72, 6,032-yard Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Ga.
The event will feature 36 holes of competition on Monday and 18 holes of play on Tuesday. Both days begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
The Golden Flashes are making their second appearance in the tournament, as last year, Kent State came out on top winning the tournament with a score of 12-over lar 876. Competing this weekend for the Golden Flashes will be junior Michaela Finn (Ängelholm, Sweden), sophomores Marissa Kirkwood (Newcastle, Pa.), Pimnipa Panthong (Nakhon Sawan, Thailand), Karoline Stormo (Tvedestrand, Norway), and freshman Kory Nielsen (Kent, Ohio) and Chloe Salort (Ermont, France).
The No.19 Flashes enter as the highest-ranked team, but two others rank in the Top 50: No. 40 Ole Miss and No. 43 Kennesaw State. The rest of the field includes Delaware, Virginia Tech, Troy, Eastern Michigan, Georgia Southern, Augusta, UNCG, and Coastal Carolina.
Last season, the Flashes came out on top followed by Purdue one- stroke back, and Texas Tech two strokes behind. Panthong was named the tournament co-champion with her 3-under par 213. Stormo and Kirkwood finished in the top-25.
The Golden Flashes return to action April 14-15 for the Lady Buckeye Invitational in Columbus, Ohio.
