KENT, Ohio - The Kent State University men's basketball team hosts Northern Illinois on Monday, March 4th at 7 p.m. at the M.A.C. Center in the first round of the MAC Tournament. The Golden Flashes are looking to repeat as tournament champions and earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year. Kent State is the five seed in this year's tournament and will host the 12th-seeded Huskies. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3 and the Kent Stats IMG Sports Network.

- Senior guard Kevin Zabo led Kent State in all three major offensive statististical categories with 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Zabo was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line.
- Kent State was called for 25 fouls against the Zips, the most in conference play. The Flashes led by four with six minutes left, but came back without making a field goal the rest of the way and attempted 25 second half three throws to 20 field goals.
- Jaylin Walker leads the team in scoring (17.0 ppg) and scored in double-digits for the 15th consecutive game, dropping 15 against Akron. He has 1,182 career points which is 19th in program history. He also ranks sixth in threes (195) in school history.
