No.16 Women’s Golf Wraps up Regular Season in Columbus

KENT, Ohio- Â The No. 16 Kent State women's golf team will close out the regular season at the 2018 Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational, hosted by Ohio State April 14-15 at the Ohio State University Golf Club Scarlet Course.
The tournament begins with a shotgun start Saturday at 8:30 a.m. 36 holes will be played on Saturday, with the last round teeing off Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
The 2018 Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational's loaded field consists of 14 teams, three of which including Kent State, are ranked in the top-25. No.12 Michigan State and No. 15 Washington round out the higher-ranked teams.
The rest of the field includes tournament host Ohio State, Illinois, Indiana, Indianapolis, Maryland, Minnesota, Oregon State, Penn State, Rutgers, Seton Hall, and Toledo.
Overall, the Scarlet Course has been kind to the Flashes. Kent State's 2016 final team score of 878 is a course record. Last season, the Flashes tied for third with a 26-over 890 score. Competing this weekend for the Golden Flashes will be juniors Michaela Finn (Ängelholm, Sweden) and Kelly Nielsen (Kent, Ohio), sophomores Julia Goodson (Hudson, Ohio), Pimnipa Panthong (Nakhon Sawan, Thailand) and Karoline Stormo (Tvedestrand, Norway), and freshmen freshman Kory Nielsen (Kent, Ohio) and Chloe Salort (Ermont, France).
The squad last competed in the Henssler Financial Intercollegiate where the Flashes won their second-straight tournament with a 9-over 873 score. Sophomore Pimnipa Panthong (Nakhon Sawan, Thailand) was named the tournament champion with a score of 6-under par 210.
