Bookman Places Fifth in Season Opener
TOLEDO, OHIO – The Kent State men's and women's cross country teams opened their season on Friday in the Toledo Opener.
Junior Clark Bookman (18:56.9) led the men, finishing in fifth place and leading the team to a fifth place finish. Freshman Alex Stamper (19:09.2) earned a 15th place finish in his first collegiate race, while junior Sam Goodman (19:33.4) finished in 26th place. Josh Allen (19:52.2) and Kevin Jones (19:52.5) finished within a second of one another in 37th and 38th place, respectively.
The women's team finished fifth overall and were led by sophomore Maddie Dunlap (14:28.8), who paced the team with a seventh place finish. Newcomer Rachel Banks (15:03.1) and Nicole Fleming (15:03.4) finished in 26th and 27th place, while Kalli Barrett (15:04.6) was close behind in 29th place.
