Flashes Handle Bobcats in Regular Season Finale

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State soccer team (6-9-3) dominated the Ohio Bobcats (10-8-1) in its regular season finale, 3-1, on Halloween afternoon at Dix Stadium.
Set pieces were key for the Golden Flashes on a wet and windy day in Kent. Vital Kats lined up for a corner kick in the 14th minute and found Sierra Henderson-Muschett on a header for her third career goal.
Four minutes later, Kats lined up for another corner. This time, the junior midfielder connected with Tianna Harris for her second goal of the season. Kats sent a third corner in the box in the 26th minute and Maddie Holmes headed in her third goal of the season. She finished the game with three assists and led the Golden Flashes on the season with eight assists.
Faith O'Neill had the Bobcats seeing ghosts on the scoreboard in the first half, as her and the Flashes' defense held them scoreless and took a 3-0 lead into the break.
The Bobcats got one back in the second half, but the Flashes coasted to their sixth win of the season in its last game of the season. With Eastern Michigan's victory over Central Michigan, the Eagles advanced to the Mid-American Conference tournament as the No. 8 seed, leaving Kent State outside of the MAC tournament for the first time since 2010.
