
Gymnastics Wraps Up Regular Season Against Eastern Michigan

KENT, Ohio – Kent State gymnastics will travel to Ypsilanti, Michigan this Friday, March 15 to take on Eastern Michigan at 6 p.m., in the team's last regular season meet.
The Golden Flashes are ranked second in the Mid-American Conference and 35th in the country with an all-around NQS of 195.270. Kent State is 29th in the nation and leads the conference on balance beam with a NQS of 48.900. The Flashes also lead the MAC on uneven bars (48.860) and are 35th in the nation. The Flashes rank third in the conference on floor (48.950), while ranking seventh on vault (48.570).
"We are very excited to get back to another meet and show what we can do at the end of the year," said Head Coach Brice Biggin. "This team has really grown a lot this year, and they are ready to take another step towards next week's MAC Championship run."
Senior Dara Williams continues to lead Kent State on vault and uneven bars. Williams ranks fifth in the MAC on vault with a NQS of 9.795, and second on bars with a 9.830.
Sophomore Abby Fletcher is tied for fourth place in the MAC on floor with a 9.865, while junior Sarah McCarty is tied for 10th place with a 9.830.
Seniors Kennedy Plude and Sarah Lippowitsch, as well as freshman Cami Klein are key competitors for the Golden Flashes' beam rotation. Plude leads the Flashes, ranking fourth in the conference with a NQS of 9.820, while Lippowitsch is tied for sixth with a 9.800. Klein is tied for 11th place with a 9.790.
Last Time Out
Kent State finished in third place at the Kent State Quad with a 192.550. Ball State took home the title (195.325), followed by Rutgers (195.175). North Carolina finished in fourth place (192.325).
Plude concluded her M.A.C. Center career with a first-place finish on beam with a score of 9.875, while Lippowitsch tied for first place on bars with a 9.825.
Williams finished third on vault with a 9.825 and ninth on bars with a 9.700, while senior Nuriya Mack competed exhibition on beam.
Fletcher finished in third place on floor with a 9.900, while Klein finished second on beam with a 9.825. Junior Jade Brown and sophomore Toshi Richard each recorded a season-high 9.850 on floor.
Scouting Eastern Michigan
Eastern Michigan is ranked sixth in the MAC and 50th in the nation with a NQS of 194.290. The Eagles' best event is vault, where it ranks fourth in the conference with a 48.720 NQS.
Junior Allie Smith leads the Eagles on vault with a 9.795 NQS tying for fifth in the conference. Sophomore Cortney Bezold is first in the MAC on bars with a 9.840. Junior Emili Dobronics is sixth in the conference on floor (9.850), while sophomore Jada Rondeau is tied for 10th place (9.830).
Series History
Kent State is 53-25 all-time vs. Eastern Michigan. In its last meeting, the Golden Flashes fell to the Eagles, 194.875-193.925 in Kent, Ohio.
