
Flashes in 12th After Day One of Boilermaker Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.- The Kent State men's golf team sits in 12th place at 11-over par after two rounds of the Boilermaker Invitational. The Flashes shot a 298 in the morning round and a 289 in the afternoon round.
Illinois State leads the tournament at 16-under par.
Freshman Johnny Travale and Sophomore Josh Gilkison are both tied for 30th at even-par 144. Travale shot and even par for both rounds whole Gilkison fired rounds of 75 and a team-low 69.
Senior Gisli Sveinbergsson is tied for 58th following rounds of 74 and 75. Sophomore Will Kurtz is tied for 63rd through 36 holes after completing rounds of 77 and 73. Freshman Julien Paltrinieri is tied for 76th after he fired an opening round of 78 and finished the day with a 76.
Brayden Baldridge is competing as an individual and sits in eighth place at 5-under through 36 holes. Baldridge opened the day with a 1-under and fired a 4-under 68 for his second round.
Kent State will begin the final round of play on Sunday with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
