Stevens, Jr. Leads Men’s Track and Field on Final Day at NCAA East Prelims

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Three members of the Kent State men's track and field team competed on Saturday as the NCAA East Preliminary Round came to a close.
Senior Craig Stevens, Jr. led the way with a 16th-place finish in the triple jump. Stevens, Jr. had a top jump of 51'-0" and was a matter of inches from earning his third consecutive trip to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The Pottsville, Pennsylvania native concluded his Golden Flashes career as a three-time All-American and four-time Mid-American Conference champion.
Sophomore Anthony Milliner also competed in the triple jump and finished 28th with a top leap of 49'-7.25".
Redshirt freshman Ryan Demaline placed 36th in the shot put with a top throw of 55'-9.75" to round out the competition for the Flashes.
Kent State will send three men to the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships — Christian Champen (pole vault), Samory Fraga (long jump) and TJ Lawson (decathlon) — to be held June 5-8 in Austin, Texas.
