
Bailey’s PR Leads Women’s Track and Field at Campbell/Wright Invitational

AKRON, Ohio — Freshman Gabby Bailey unleashed a personal-best mark of 55'-6.5" to win the shot put on Saturday as the Kent State women's track and field team concluded the regular season at the Campbell/Wright Invitational.
Bailey sat in second-place after five attempts before posting the second-best shot put mark in Golden Flashes history on her final throw, which should give her a top-20 national ranking when all of the weekend's results are in. She placed second in the discus with a top throw of 165'-2".
Sarena Choi won the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 37'-6.5".
Rachel Banks was one of three Kent State competitors to claim victory on the track. Banks finished in a personal-best 2:07.68 in the 800-meter run to move into sixth in the program's record book.
The Flashes took the top three spots in the 200-meter dash. Irene Skinner led the way with a time of 25.40, followed by Angelique Wong (25.46) and Brynn Santos (25.97).
Leah Lisle won the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:32.20.
The Golden Flashes will compete at the 2019 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 9-11 in Muncie, Indiana.
