KENT, Ohio – Kent State soccer head coach Rob Marinaro announced the additions of Tianna Harris and Tarah Roller to the Golden Flashes roster for the upcoming 2019 season.
Harris comes to Kent State from Mississippi State where she was part of a Bulldog team that earned the program's first NCAA Tournament berth. The Whitby, Ontario native will have three years of eligibility remaining after competing in two matches at Mississippi State during her freshman campaign. Harris, a defender, continues the long trend of Kent State back line players from north of the border. She prepped at Donald A. Woodson Secondary School and played club soccer for FC Durham Academy.
Roller is from nearby Medina, Ohio and enters the program as a freshman. During her three seasons at Medina High School, she totaled 50 goals and 35 assists. She was also very active in the club circuit, participating for International Soccer Club where she competed against Division II and III teams. Roller spent two years as part of the US Youth Soccer National Training Program and was also an Esmark All-American.
The Golden Flashes begin their 23rd season of competition on Friday, August 23rd at Dix Stadium at 7 p.m. against Cleveland State. Kent State finished the 2018 campaign with its eighth consecutive 10-win season and is the only MAC team to accomplish that mark.
