Kent State and Toledo met earlier this season in Kent as the Flashes came away with an 84-77 win. Five Flashes scored in double-figures . Senior Philip Whittington led the Flashes recording his fourth double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Antonio Williams and junior Danny Pippen also added 16 points, while senior Troy Simons and sophomore Anthony Robert rounded out the double-digit scoring with 15 and 11 points.

The Kent State men's basketball team improved to 14-6 overall and 4-3 in conference play after a 70-66 win on the road against Buffalo.ย Danny Pippen scored Kent State's final nine points, including a banked-in three and six consecutive free throws in the final minutes as the Golden Flashes came from behind. Pippen scored a game-high 20 points on 6-of-13 from the floor and 2-of-7 from 3-point range. Pippen was perfect from the charity stripe going 6-of-6. Senior Troy Simons added 16 points, while sophomore Anthony Roberts scored nine. Senior CJ Williamson had a productive night on the boards grabbing a team-high nine and had four steals. KSU took its largest lead of the game, 58-50, with 6:55 remaining, but a 10-0 run by the Bulls gave them a 60-58 lead, their first of the half, with 4:23 left. Pippen gave the Flashes a 64-61 from hitting two three-pointers and sealed the victory hitting his six free throws in the final minute.
On the season, the Flashes are shooting 45.8 percent (570-1245) from the floor and 182-510 (35.7 percent) from long range. Pippen leads the team averaging (14.0 ppg) as well in rebounds averaging 6.7 boards a game.
