KENT, OHIO- In advance of the start of the 2020 athletic season, Kent State Athletics is excited to announce the release of the Go Flashes app and a redesign of KentStateSports.com, both powered by Sidearm Sports.
The Go Flashes app will be a fan's "one stop shop" for all things Kent State sports. Fans will have the ability to exclusively follow their favorite Golden Flashes team, listen to live and archived broadcasts as well as access their tickets as part of our digital ticket initiative. Additionally, all of the latest news, posts and updates will "mirror" the news and social feeds found on KentStateSports.com.
As part of the app, fans will have a direct link to the Kent State Radio Network. Simply click the "audio" button on the bottom of the screen to see a list of live and archived events. Fans can find live events through the app as well as on Tune In, which is available in the app store as well as most car play devices.
The Go Flashes App is available as a free download in the Apple App Store as well as the Google Play Store by simply searching "Kent State".
"We love the access that the app now gives to our fans," Director of Athletics Joel Nielsen said. "It enables us to put everything game day and Golden Flashes related, in one, unique location."
The new site showcases the top five stories for the department and each team (with links to archived stories as well). New to the site, fans will find social media feeds for specific teams and the department as well as a "stats leaders" feature, unique to each team. Fans will also find a composite schedule to see everything that is happening on that day in Kent State athletics.
The "responsive" site adjusts the page to fit your screen, whether that is on a computer, laptop, tablet or mobile device.
"The redesigned website gives us a new, clean look going forward," Nielsen added. "The new features that the site now offers will help to showcase our teams and student-athletes even more."
Links to watch and listen to live events will also be available on each teams' schedule page.
The 2020 athletics season will get started with a home football game on Wednesday, November 4th. Kent State will host Eastern Michigan with a 6 p.m. kickoff, the game will air on ESPN + and can be heard on the Kent State Radio Network.
