Flashes Pour it on Falcons in Road Rout

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Kent State football team (2-0, 2-0 MAC) dropped a 50-burger on Bowling Green (0-2, 0-2 MAC) during wet and rainy #MACtion on Tuesday evening. The Golden Flashes secured a 62-24 victory and are 2-0 for the first time since 1988.
Dustin Crum sprinkled the ball around to the tune of a career-high four touchdowns. The senior finished 18-for-27 for 271 yards and added 25 rushing yards.
Crum hit Ja'Shaun Poke on a screen and the sophomore trickled through multiple BGSU defenders for his first career touchdown. The splash plays kept coming for Kent State when Crum launched a 55-yard touchdown strike to Poke for his second touchdown of the game.
To cap the Flashes first-half scoring, freshman Marquez Cooper leaked through the Bowling Green defense for his first career touchdown. Kent State poured it on in the first half, taking a 38-10 lead into the locker room.
The second half began in a deluge, and the Flashes kept the ball on the ground. Cooper slipped through the Falcons defensive line and floated into the end zone for his second touchdown of the night. He finished with 53 rushing yards.
Redshirt freshmen carried the ship in the second half for the Flashes. Bryan Bradford seeped through a porous BGSU defensive unit for 113 yards on 13 carries, and Collin Schlee plunged into the end zone from 15 yards out. Schlee finished 5-for-8 for 101 yards and a touchdown along with 63 rushing yards in his first extensive action.
Isaiah Wooden hopped in on the scoring and became the fourth Golden Flash to score their first career collegiate touchdown in the game, joining Schlee, Cooper and Poke.
The Flashes flooded the scoreboard with points in the fourth quarter on their way to a 62-24 victory.
Isaiah McKoy had an impressive night, reeling in six passes for 74 yards and two touchdowns. It was McKoy's second career multi-touchdown game.
The Golden Flashes threw for 372 yards and rushed for another 295 on their way to a 667-yard offensive depth charge. The converted 34 first downs, including 11-for-19 on third down.
Kent State hosts TSDTR on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Dix Stadium with hopes of keeping the Wagon Wheel in Kent for the second straight year. They then head to the Empire State to take on Buffalo on Saturday, Nov 28.
