KENT, OHIO- Kent State senior quarterback Dustin Crum has been named to the Davey O'Brien Award's Class of 2020 as announced by the Davey O'Brien Foundation.
Crum initially landed on the Davey O'Brien Watch List in July. Tuesday's announcement places the signal caller as one of the 35 quarterbacks named to the Award's 2020 class. As a part of the Award process, fans can vote for Dustin Crum using the information below:
The Fan Vote is instituting a major change in its format in 2020. This year, fans will vote via three social media platforms—Instagram, Twitter and Facebook—and the top vote getter on each platform will each receive the equivalent of two additional committee member ballots for that voting period. Fan voting will be done by liking the quarterback's photo from the original post on the official Davey O'Brien social media account. Voting is open through Monday, December 8th when the class will be narrowed down to 16 semi-finalists.
After having a breakout season in 2019, Crum is having another spectacular year. Crum leads the Mid-American Conference (MAC) in numerous passing categories: passing touchdowns (12), completion percentage (73.5), yards per game (295) and total offense (355). His completion percentage and total offense are top-5 in the NCAA as well.
The Grafton, Ohio native has also made plays with his legs this season. Crum leads all MAC quarterbacks in rushing and is averaging 60 yards rushing per game and nearly six yards per carry. His four rushing touchdowns gives Crum 16 touchdowns that he is responsible for this season. That four touchdown per game average in tied for second in the FBS only behind Florida quarterback Kyle Trask.
Crum and the Golden Flashes wrap up the road portion of the 2020 season this Saturday as they travel to Oxford to take on Miami of Ohio. Kick-off is set for noon on CBS Sports Network and the Kent State Radio Network.
