Stormo Captures MAC Golfer of the Week Award

KENT, OHIO-ย Kent State senior golfer Karoline Stormoย has been named the Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week for her efforts in leading the Golden Flashes to a team victory at the UCF Challenge hosted by Central Florida.ย
Stormo had rounds of 73, 69 and 68 over the three-day event to finish fourth overall at six-under par. She was the Flashes' top individual finisher as Kent State won for the fourth time in five events over the 2019-20 fall and spring seasons.ย
Ranked No. 15 in the country, Stormo opened the tournament firing three birdies in a row on the back nine. Inย the second round, she carded three birdies and recorded an eagle on the par-5 No.13 hole. Stormo had her best round of the tournament on the final day after she went 17 holes for par or better with five birdies. On the season, Stormo holds a 69.75 scoring average and has shot eight rounds in the 60's.
Stormo and the Flashes have a quick turnaround as they will head to Palos Verdes, California for the Northrup Grummon Regional Challenge hosted by Ohio State this weekend. The three-day event begins on Sunday at noon Eastern/ 9 a.m. Pacific, live scoring can be found here.ย
