WILMINGTON, N.C. – Kent State's Veronika Kedronova closed out a dominant performance on Sunday at the Landfall Tradition, setting a new program record 54-hole score to claim her second consecutive individual win. The star junior fired a 3-under-par 69 in round three, her third straight round in the 60s, to conclude the event at 13-under-par with a 54-hole score of 203 and atop the 96-golfer field featuring elite competition.
Kedronova far exceeded the rest of the field on the course this weekend, with a seven-stroke final margin of victory. The Czech international also led the field with 16 birdies across three rounds, adding an eagle on her second-to-last hole of the event. Beyond the strokes gained, she also did well to avoid bogeys with only five throughout 54 holes of play.
Kedronova has now won the individual title at the last two events she has competed in with Kent State. In her most recent appearance with the Flashes in September, she finished first over another strong field of 65 at the Canadian Collegiate, posting a final score of 8-under-par in the rain-shortened 36-hole event, before missing the Blessings Collegiate Invitational to compete for Czechia at the World Amateur Team Championships. Kedronova now joins five other women in program history with at least five individual wins in their collegiate career. She is still two shy of matching the program record for career individual wins, set by Pimnipa Panthong with seven wins in her career from 2017-20.
As a team, the Kent State Dr. Paula Treckel women's golf team concludes the Landfall Tradition in 11th place among 18 teams competing, the team's first and only non-top-three finish of the Fall. The Golden Flashes posted a 12-over-par 300 in round three to end the event at 26-over-par.
Isabella Goyette posted the team's second-best 54-hole score at 11-over-par to tie for 60th place; the sophomore recorded a 6-over-par 78 in round three. Gracie Larsen had Kent State's second-best round three score on Sunday with a 4-over-par 76. The Australian sophomore concludes the Landfall Tradition tied for 64th place at 12-over-par. Leon Takagi rounded on the countable team scores for the Flashes in round three, tallying a 5-over-par 77. The senior from Japan ended the event tied for 80th place at 16-over-par.
North Carolina claimed the team championship at the Landfall Tradition on Sunday afternoon with a final tally of 7-under-par, five strokes ahead of second-placed UCF.
With the Fall season now in the books, the Golden Flashes will briefly pause for Winter before returning to official play. The team will open up the Spring season on January 25 at the UCF Challenge in Orlando, Florida.
