CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Kent State women's track and field team had a conference-high 23 student-athletes named to Academic All-MAC Team for the indoor season, as the Mid-American Conference recognized a total of 178 student-athletes for their successes in the classroom and in competition on Wednesday. No other school had more than 17 student-athletes honored.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
Junior Samantha Hyme was one of nine student-athletes honored who have a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA.
The Golden Flashes 3.455 team GPA earlier this academic year was the third-highest fall term GPA in program history. Thirty-one student-athletes earned a spot on the Dean's List with a GPA of 3.4 or higher with nine earning President's List honors for a 4.0.
