
Flashes Head to App St for Mountaineer Invite

KENT, OHIO- The Golden Flashes his the road again this weekend, traveling to North Carolina to take part in Sunday's Mountaineer Invitational, hosted by Appalachian State.
Wrestling will start at 9 a.m. on Sunday with six mats running in App State's Varsity Gym. Participating in this year's Invitational are App State, Air Force, Arizona State, Duke, Gardner-Webb, Indiana along with the Golden Flashes.
The Flashes will be sending 16 wrestlers to compete in the Open Jake Ferri (125 pounds), Brendon Fenton (133 pounds), Louis Newell (141 pounds), Kody Komara (149 pounds), Tyler Johnson (149 pounds), Enrigue Mungia (157 pounds), Bobby Pryhocki (157 pounds), Mason Karpinski (165 pounds), Najee Lockett (165 pounds), Mike Caniglia (174 pounds), Michael Ferree (174 pounds), Colin McCracken (184 pounds), Tyler Bates (197 pounds), Brady Chrisman (HWT), Tanner Clark (HWT) and Jacob Cover (HWT).
Bates will be looking to take home his second title in as many appearances, he grabbed the 2019 Mountaineer Open title at 184 pounds in 2019. Jake Ferri did the same on the Open/Unattached side of the tournament in 2019 at 125 pounds.

After Sunday's Open, the Flashes will be in action next Saturday, as they travel to Annapolis for the Navy Classic.
