PREVIEWING THE FLASHES
Kent State enters the conference meet with the two competitors atop the shot put performance list in senior Grace Tennant and junior Gabby Bailey. Tennant is the reigning champion in the event and looks to continue her undefeated indoor season. Her personal-best of 55'-2" at this past weekend's Kent State Tune-Up has her at No. 10 on the national performance list. Bailey comes in on the heels of her two best performances of the season and is No. 28 on the national performance list with a season-best throw of 52'-2.75".
Freshman Leah Pasqualetti has recorded a higher height than the previous week in her last three pole vault competitions, which included a new school record of 14' 0.5" this past Saturday at the Kent State Tune-Up. Pasqualetti will look to raise the bar again in order to improve upon her No. 14 national ranking and punch her ticket to the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Junior Desiree Thomas will look to claim high jump gold, entering the meet 0.25" behind the conference leader after posting season-best marks of 5'-7.75" in her two most recent competition at the Doug Raymond National Qualifier.
Redshirt senior Mi'Angel Daniels will be in contention for all-conference honors in the 60-meter hurdles. Daniels enters ranked third with a season-best time of 8.75 but owns a personal-best time of 8.50 that is .09 seconds faster than any of her competitors this year.
Rounding out the Flashes' top-3 entries is senior Sarena Choi, who sits third in the long jump. Choi set a personal-record with a leap of 19'-6.75" to win the long jump at the Kent State Tune-Up this past weekend.
