Rodriguez Named MAC Offensive Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Kent State senior Clara Rodriguez was named the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week following the Flashes dominate victories over Bellarmine this past weekend, as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon. Rodriguez exploded offensively, notching 4 goals, 2 assists, and 10 total points on the weekend.
The 2019 First Team All-MAC midfielder helped the Flashes get off to a red-hot start in the first game of their double header. Rodriguez got the scoring started for Kent State one minute and thirty-four seconds into the contest. She continued to score two more goals in the first quarter securing her hat trick and leading the Flashes to an 8-0 victory. Rodriguez continued to shine in the second game adding another goal and two assists helping the Flashes secure a 7-0 win. Her midfield play was a huge part in Kent State's combined 39-4 shots on goal advantage.
On the season, Rodriguez has started all four games for Kent State totaling 224 minutes.
Up next, the Flashes will host Appalachian State at Murphy-Mellis Field on Friday, Mar. 26 and Saturday, Mar. 27 at 12 p.m.
