
Flashes, McGinty in First as Play is Halted Due to Weather

SUNSET, S.C.- The Kent State women's golf team holds the lead at the Clemson Invitational with five holes to play when inclement weather stopped play Saturday night at the Reserve in Sunset, S.C. The 18 teams will conclude the tournament on Sunday morning starting at 8:30 a.m.
The 18 teams played 27 holes on Friday and attempted to play 27 holes on Saturday due to the inclement weather forecast for Sunday. Play was halted on Saturday night with teams having played between 13 and 14 holes of the final round.
The Flashes are 8-under par for the tournament through 49 holes, including 8-under par in the final round. Clemson is in second place at 3-under par through 50 holes.
Caley McGinty has the individual lead at 9-under par through 50 holes and shot a 73 (+1) for her second round. She is 4-under with four holes to play.
Kory Nielsen is tied for eighth at 1-under par through 50 holes and is 2-under in the third round with four holes left. Chloe Salort stands in a tie for 10th at even-par and is 1-under in the third round with four holes to play.
Mayka Hoogeboom and Marissa Kirkwood are both tied for 29th at 5-over par through 50 holes. Hoogeboom is 2-over in the final round with four holes left, while Kirkwood is 1-under in the final round with four to play.
