Flashes Finish Tied for Third at Hootie at Bulls Bay

AWENDAW- S.C.- The Kent State men's golf team finished tied for third at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate with a 54-hole total of 849 (-15) on Tuesday afternoon.
The Flashes shared third place with Auburn, while Missouri took second (848) and NC State placed first with a 846 score.
The Flashes had two players finish among the top-10 as Cade Breitenstine led the way and finished third with a 207 (-9) score. Breitenstine sunk six birdies in the final round to go on and finish the day with a 67 (-5) score. Chris Vandette carded a 69 with five birdies in the final round and placed seventh with a three-round dcore of 211 (-5).
Josh Gilkison finished in 12th place with a 214 (-2) score and shot a 73 in the final round (+1). Julien Paltrinieri finished the third round at 74 (+2) and finished tied for 49th at 220 (+4).
Jared Wilson shot a 76 (+4) on the day and finished at 225 (+9) in 70th, while Luca Civello who competed as in individual shot a 74 (+2) in the final round and finished the tournament at 233 (+17).
As a team, Kent State led the tournament in birdies (53) and on par-5 holes (-25). This is Kent State's fourth top-10 finish of the season.
Kent State will be back in action on April 10-11 as the Flashes compete in the Boilermaker Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind.
