Seven Soccer Athletes Named to Academic All-MAC Team

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Kent State University women's soccer team had seven student-athletes named to the 2020-21 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team, the conference announced Tuesday. Seniors Yasmine Hall, Maddie Holmes, and Vital Kats, junior Karly Hellstrom, sophomores Reilly Ford and Sarah Melén, and redshirt freshman Lauryn Arruda were among the 130 women's soccer athletes to earn Academic All-MAC honors.
The Academic All-MAC Team honors student-athletes who have excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
Sarah Melén was one of 13 MAC women's soccer athletes to hold a perfect 4.0 GPA.
