Bailey Earns All-America Accolade in Shot Put to Start NCAA Outdoor Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Kent State earned its first All-America honor of the outdoor track and field season on Thursday, as Gabby Bailey placed 15th in the shot put during Day 2 action at the 2021 NCAA Championships.
Bailey's best mark of 54'-10" came on her first attempt of the evening, resulting in Second Team All-America accolades for the Portmore, Jamaica native. Her second and third throws went 53'-8.25" and 52'-9.50", respectively.
Leah Pasqualetti was unable to clear the opening bar at 13'-3.25" in the pole vault. Pasqualetti completed an historic freshman campaign that included NCAA Championship appearances and school record during both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
Gabby Bailey will return to action in the discus throw at 5:35 p.m. ET on Saturday as the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships come to a close.
