Kats Named Academic All-American

AUSTIN, Texas – Kent State senior Vital Kats has been named to the 2020-21 Academic All-America® Women's Soccer Third Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced on Monday.
The CoSIDA Academic All-America® teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Kats, who graduated with a degree in business administration and entered her final semester with a 3.90 cumulative GPA, is the fifth Academic All-American in Kent State soccer history.
On the field, the midfielder earned All-MAC Second Team honors as she led the Golden Flashes with three assists and 18 shots during the shortened seven-match spring season. Kats finished her career as a four-time All-MAC selection, which included a pair of first team nods, and made her mark in the school record book. She ranks fourth on the career assists list (24), while ranking fifth in points (68) and sixth in goals (22).
