KENT, OHIO- Quarterback Dustin Crum has been named to the Reese's Senior Bowl Watchlist as announced by the bowl committee on Thursday afternoon.
The Reese's Senior Bowl is the college football equivalent of a senior all-star game and is considered one of the first steps in the NFL Draft process. The 2022 edition of the Senior Bowl will take place on February 5, 2022, and annually takes place in Mobile, Alabama. If selected, Crum would be the third Golden Flash to play in the bowl game joining tight end Casey Pierce in 2014 and offensive lineman Brian Winters in 2012.
This latest watchlist runs Crum's pre-season accolades to six. The Reese's Senior Bowl joins the College Football Performance, Manning, Walter Camp, Maxwell and Davey O'Brien Awards who have honored the Kent State signal caller.
Crum is one of two Mid-American Conference quarterbacks named to the watchlist with Ball State's Drew Plitt also earning the honor. Both were all-conference quarterbacks last season with the Kent State quarterback earning first-team all-conference honors.
The Grafton, Ohio native has started the last 16 games for the Golden Flashes and put up some eye-popping numbers. Since taking over as the starter in week two of 2019, Crum has completed 70 percent of his passes, averaged nearly 280 yards passing per game and has thrown 32 touchdowns against four interceptions. He's added over 900 yards rushing during that time and 10 rushing touchdowns. Last season, he helped orchestrate the Nation's top offense. In 2020, Kent State was the only Division-I team to average over 600 yards of offense (606.5) and nobody averaged more points than Kent State at 49.75 per contest.
Kent State opens the 2021 season at Texas A&M on Saturday, September 4th. Kick time is set for 8 p.m. eastern and can be seen on ESPNU.
