
Volleyball Set to Host Golden Flashes Invitational

Kent State will conclude preparation for Mid-American Conference play at home this weekend when it hosts the Golden Flashes Invitational.
The Golden Flashes (5-6) will play against Youngstown State at 6 p.m. on Thursday and Duquesne on Saturday at 4 p.m. The Dukes and Penguins will battle on Friday at 6 p.m.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Youngstown State
The Penguins (2-7) have lost four straight matches and are 0-3 against MAC schools with losses to Akron, Central Michigan and Toledo. YSU ranks 31st in the country with an average of 16.75 digs per set.
Outside hitter Paula Gursching leads the Horizon League at 4.16 kills per set and has posted three matches with 20 or more kills. Outside hitter Amanda Leiboda adds 2.48 kills per set. Setter Lexie Beeke is averaging 8.59 assists set, while Reilly Seagroves leads the defense with 4.94 digs per set.
Duquesne
The Dukes (4-5) went 1-2 at the Western New York Invitational last weekend and is 0-2 against MAC schools with losses to Akron and Buffalo.
Outside hitter Morgan Kelly is the Atlantic-10 leader in both points (4.56) and kills (4.03) per set. Outside hitter Summer Slade is averaging 2.49 kills per set. Setter Hailey Poling leads the A-10 with 9.89 assists per set. Middle hitter Anita Parrott is Duquesne's top block leader with 1.26 blocks per set.
