
Flashes Kick Off Two Game Road Trip Against Falcons

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State men's basketball team (10-9, 5-4 MAC) will hit the road for a quick trip to Bowling Green (11-9, 4-5 MAC) to open a two-game road trip on Saturday, Jan. 29, at 5 p.m.
The Golden Flashes have won three of their last four games using excellent defense to hold opponents under 65 points. The Flashes scored 75 points in a win over Western Michigan which was their best offensive performance since scoring 76 against Southern on Dec. 19.
Andrew Garcia played his best game as Golden Flash, leading the team with a season-high 18 points. He also grabbed five boards in the win. Garcia was one of five different Flashes to record double figures against the Broncos. Malique Jacobs joined Garcia in having a great game as he recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds and posted a game-high six rebounds.
Sincere Carry scored 14 points and added four assists. VonCameron Davis scored a career-high 11 points and Justyn Hamilton added 10 points and nine rebounds to lift the Flashes past WMU.
The Flashes are one of the best defensive teams in the conference and are allowing just 63.9 points per game in MAC games. Despite being ninth in the conference in scoring, the Flashes are consistently in games thanks to a defense that causes 14.0 turnovers per game in MAC play which is the most in the conference.
Scouting the Falcons
Bowling Green has won back-to-back games after a 2-5 start in Mid-American Conference play with wins over Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan. The Falcons have scored 80 or more points in each of those games.
BGSU is the highest-scoring team in the MAC, averaging 83.0 points per game. The Falcons are averaging the second-most points in conference play with 81.8 per game.
The Falcons are led by a fifth-year player in Daeqwon Plowden who leads the team in both points and rebounds. Plowden averages 16.5 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per game and has elevated those numbers over the past week. In his last three games, Plowden is averaging 18.3 points and 6.3 rebounds with BGSU going 2-1 during that span.

The Flashes will continue their two-game road trip on Tuesday, Feb. 1, when they travel to Miami. The team will then return home on Saturday, Feb. 5, for its ERACISM game against Eastern Michigan at 2 p.m.
