
Men’s Cross Country Impresses at Live in Lou Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Kent State men's cross country team had a strong showing Saturday morning at the Live in Lou Classic, placing eighth in the field of 31 schools.
Led by top-30 finishes from sophomore Baidy Ba and junior Joe Farley, the Golden Flashes beat host Louisville, Auburn, Clemson and Georgia out of Power 5 conferences. Ba placed 10th in the Men's 8K Gold race with a time of 23:41.0 and finished ahead of the defending Mid-American Conference individual champion. Farley ran a time of 24:05.1 to finish 27th.
Kent State had three additional men clock sub-25:00 times. Redshirt junior Shadrack Kipkosgei (24:25.8) placed 63rd, junior Ethan Yost (24:51.1) took 105th and sophomore Jonah Cuestas (24:53.9) finished 111th.
In women's team 5K Gold race, four Flashes broke 19:00. Graduate student Leah Lisle crossed the finish line in 18:05.9 to lead the way and place 104th. Senior Nicole DiCicco (18:34.1), sophomore Sydney Gallagher (18:37.6) and senior Nina Zraik (18:45.0) also finished in the top-200 in the field of 373 runners.
The Flashes will finish the regular season when in travels to Bowling Green to run in the Falcon Invitational on Friday, Oct. 14.
