
Flashes Beat Mercyhurst in Exhibition Game

KENT, Ohio - The Kent State women's basketball team beat Mercyhurst, 72-40, in an exhibition contest at the M.A.C. Center on Thursday night.
The Golden Flashes led from end-to-end, starting the game on an 18-3 run and never looking back. Kent State's largest lead of the night was 34. Three Flashes tallied double-digit points for the game - Annie Pavlansky led the way with 12, while Lindsey Thall and Corynne Hauser both posted 11. Kent State also held a 54-29 rebound advantage over the Lakers, led by nine boards from Bridget Dunn.
The Flashes' defense held the Lakers to just 24.9% from the field (15-58), including 3-24 from three. In the fourth quarter, the Flashes limited Mercyhurst to just one basket and one free throw.
Kent State will open its regular season at home on Nov. 10 against Florida State. Tip is set for 7 p.m.
