Golden Flashes fall in Semifinals

OXFORD, Ohio – The Kent State field hockey team (8-10, 6-1 MAC) fell to App State, 1-0, this afternoon.
In the first half, both teams went scoreless battling to make it on the scoreboard. The Golden Flashes and Mountaineers tied for shots 2-2 after the half and each earned one penalty corner. Going into the third quarter, App State scored to take the lead 1-0. In the final quarter, the Flashes were unable to gain a goal.
Kent State led in penalty corners 3-2 and the Mountaineers led in shots 6-3.
The loss ends Kent State's season at 8-10 and 6-1 in the conference. App State improves to 14-5 and 5-2 in the MAC and takes on Miami tomorrow at 2 p.m. to play for the Championship title.
