Flashes Close Regular Season at SIU-E

KENT, OHIO- The Golden Flashes close out the regular season on Friday night, traveling to Edwardsville, Illinois to take on the SIU-E Cougars in a MAC dual.
Kent State is coming off a win over Bloomsburg last Friday. The Flashes won the final five matches of the night, including three by major decision. The Cougars dropped a MAC dual against Ohio last weekend and are 1-12 in duals this season. Their lone win came two weekends ago over Clarion.
That said, the Cougars do sport the number three MAC wrestler at 141 pounds in Saul Ervin and the second-ranked MAC wrestler at 285 pounds in Colton McKiernan.
This will be the first meeting between the schools in Edwardsville. SIU-E joined the MAC a few seasons ago and the teams have met twice in Kent and twice at a neutral site. The Golden Flashes lead the all-time series 5-1-1 and have won the last five meetings.
Friday's match will get underway at 8 pm ET/7PM CT following SIU-E's senior day ceremony. Live stats will be available for the dual and the link can be found on the wrestling schedule page.
With this being the final dual of the regular season, the Flashes will look to make a statement and carry momentum with them into the MAC tournament. This year's conference tourney will be held March 4th and 5th at Ohio University in Athens.
