
Women’s Hoops Hosts Ohio Saturday in Regular Season Finale

Kent State concludes regular season action at 1 p.m. Saturday when Ohio visits the M.A.C. Center.
The Golden Flashes (17-11, 9-10 MAC) trailed by just four with 4:31 to play but made just one of their final six shots in Wednesday night's 69-60 loss at Bowling Green. Lindsey Thall matched her season-high 22 and sank four three-point field goals to move into a tie with Larissa Lurken for the program record with 212 triples during her career. Hannah Young joined her in double-figures with 10 points.
Kent State has defeated a pair of Power 5 opponents this season. The Flashes rank 33rd in the nation in three-pointers per game (8.1) and 39th in three-point field goal percentage (.349).
The All-MAC trio of junior Katie Shumate (12.1 ppg), senior Lindsey Thall (11.4 ppg) and junior Nila Blackford (11.1 ppg) have led Kent State offensively. Blackford also grabs a team-best 9.1 rebounds per game. Sophomore Casey Santoro has been one of the conference's most productive non-starters with averages of 10.5 points and 3.1 assists per game while ranking fourth in the MAC with a 1.91 assist-to-turnover ratio. Freshman Bridget Dunn (9.4 ppg) has made a team-high 46 three-point fields on the season. Senior Hannah Young (7.2 ppg, 5.7 rpg) has helped the Flashes dominate opponents on the glass.

The Bobcats (15-12, 9-9 MAC) snapped a two-game losing streak by defeating Miami on Wednesday, 73-64. Ohio makes a conference-leading 9.0 three- pointers per game and scores 75.0 points per contest, which ranks second in the MAC.
Guard Cece Hooks (23.0 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 2.8 spg) is the NCAA Division I active leader in career points (2,795), field goals made (1,062) and steals (486). Guard Erica Johnson (16.3 ppg) is third in the MAC with an average of 4.6 assists per game. Forward Gabby Burris adds 14.5 points per game to give the Bobcats the conference's top scoring trio.
