
Track and Field Stays Local for Ashland Alumni Open

Kent State looks to continue momentum gained from several standout performances last weekend when it competes at the Ashland Alumni Open this weekend.
The hammer throw and javelin throw will take place beginning at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 29. Action will continue at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 30 with the long jump and men's shot put. Running events will start with the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase at 12 p.m. A celebration of life honoring longtime Ashland head coach and Varsity 'K' Hall of Fame member Jud Logan is scheduled for 6 p.m.
PREVIEWING THE FLASHES
Five Golden Flashes with national top-50 rankings are scheduled to compete in Bloomington. Gabby Bailey leads the way with top-50 marks in both the women's discus throw (No. 24) and women's shot put (No. 39). Jake Wickey is 22nd in the men's hammer throw and Aliesha Shaw is 35th in the women's discus throw. Grace Tennant is ranked 45th in the women's shot put and 50th in the women's discus throw. Scott Benco is No. 49 in the men's javelin throw.
Additional Flashes slated for action who own top-4 Mid-American Conference rankings are Benja Duff (women's 100-meter hurdles), Del'Mario Hairston (men's long jump), Marissa Henley (women's hammer throw), Nolan Landis (men's discus throw), Angelina Lotarski (women's pole vault), Jeff Neuhaus (men's discus throw), Leah Pasqualetti (women's pole vault) and Alexander Shields (men's 110m hurdles).
NEXT UP FOR KENT STATE
The Golden Flashes will compete in their final meet prior to the Mid-American Conference Championships next weekend at the WVU Last Chance Meet on May 7.
