KENT, OHIO- Justin Miknis and Jake Casey each cracked two-run homers but Danny Hall won his Kent State homecoming in a 9-5 ballgame on Tuesday night at Schoonover Stadium.
Danny Hall managed the Flashes from 1988-93 and this was his first trip back to campus since leaving for Georgia Tech. His Yellow Jackets, who came into the game with 97 team homers on the season, lived up to the billing, hitting a pair of early home runs to stake the Jackets to an early 6-0 lead after three innings.
Miknis' homer came in the third after Aidan Longwell beat out an infield single to stretch the inning. The Jackets would stretch the lead to 9-2 with two more in the fourth and one in the sixth. The Flashes got one back in the sixth on Mack Timbrook's sacrifice fly and Casey's homer in the ninth.
The Flashes sit at 21-28 on the season and welcome in Eastern Michigan this weekend to wrap the regular season. The weekend starts on Thursday night with a 6 p.m.
